4th of July 2006 @ DC
And we went to Washington DC for the Fourth of July...Well, I guess that was the best place we could be, right? The National Capital at the Independence Day. However, we were definitely not the only ones there... It was fully packed. We went by bus/metro and to get there was fine, as we went just after lunch time, but the way back... Crowds and crowds walking the streets heading to the same one or two metro stations. This was more or less 11 PM, but of course we made it.
During the day we also took the chance to do more sightseeing/tourism at DC. We went to the Jefferson's Memorial where we have not been before and where we took shelter from a quick rain that everyone thought it might cancel the celebrations and fireworks. Fortunatetly the rain stopped and we were not wet and the fireworks did come. Check out the pictures:
